Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the most ancient medical and health wisdom known to humankind. It has been handed down to us generation by generation through oral tradition and was later recorded in ancient texts, known as the Vedas. Translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means "the science of life." Ayurveda has been practiced for thousands of years in India and is now being recognized throughout the world. It is called the "Mother of Medicine" and is perhaps the greatest form of natural healthcare, simply, because it works. The goal of Ayurveda is to heal the sick, prevent illness and increase longevity. According to Ayurveda, the mind and body have the intelligence to heal themselves. Our energy is connected to the world around us; therefore, we need to seek harmony with nature and our environment. By studying Ayurveda, we promote the natural flow of energy and produce a state of optimum health and well being.
